Chicago Qingming Scroll

This is a grand and richly detailed traditional Chinese ink painting handscroll, painted on ancient silk, perfectly imitating the artistic style, brushwork, and scattered perspective of Zhang Zeduan's "Along the River During the Qingming Festival." 

Central scene: Overlooking the bustling modern Chicago riverside. The focus is on a massive steel open bridge (Dusable Bridge/Michigan Avenue Bridge), bustling with traffic, countless cars, yellow taxis, and Chicago Transit Authority (CTA) buses, all depicted with precise traditional brushwork. 

Environmental details: Below, modern cruise boats, water taxis, and kayaks shuttle along the Chicago River. Retro-style Chicago skyscrapers line both sides of the riverbank (similar to the Wrigley and Tribune Towers), painted using traditional "painting" techniques. In the distance, elevated railways are visible, with an "L"-shaped train running. 

Human activity: The riverside walkway and the sidewalks by the bridge are crowded with hundreds of little people dressed in modern casual clothes. Some are jogging, some are taking photos with smartphones, some are lining up in front of street food stalls (hot dog stands), and some are walking their dogs. The entire scene is richly detailed, somewhat chaotic, and presented in soft vintage earth tones.
